Wedding cake pricing notes

Each wedding cake is bespoke and priced accordingly

As each cake I make is bespoke unfortunately, I am unable to provide a definitive price list. Together, we will design a cake that’s not been seen before, so it’s not as simple as picking off an existing menu.

I appreciate that it can be helpful to get an idea of pricing before discussing further, hence I provide my “starting” prices on my most popular sizes.

My cakes come in all shapes, sizes and depths so the prices may vary depending on design and intricacy.

The size of your cake will very much be governed by how many day time and evening guests you will be having to your wedding. As a rule of thumb, I generally recommend catering for only 75-80% of your guests as not all will eat cake (but of course this is entirely your choice).

If you wish to have something bigger, without the extra servings, adding dummy tiers to give you more wow factor is a great way to achieve this. Dummy tiers are decorated in the same way as real cake, so no one will ever know! Likewise, if you would prefer a smaller cake, cutting cakes can always be added to make up servings.

All Sue Hurst Cake Design cakes come with a modern, sleek, white acrylic cake drum as standard, as I believe these truly enhance the overall look of your finished design

Should you require a wedding cake with 6 tiers or more, please contact me for pricing.

Important information:

  • The starting prices listed here are based on 5″ deep round cakes (although many of my designs are now generally 6″ or 7″ tiers depending on design), covered in ganache.
  • Any tiers larger than 12″ will be made using dummy cakes and cutting cakes will be provided for these tiers.
  • All  bookings are subject to a £800 minimum order value, other than August weddings when there is a £900 minimum order value due to very limited availability.
  • Occasionally I take orders for special occasion cakes in my quieter times (minimum order value £400 if being collected, or £800 if delivery is required).  Please get in touch via the contact form to enquire.

Our cake was absolutely stunning! We ordered it fairly last minute and Sue was so accommodating and able to create exactly what we were asking for. It was a work of art and tasted delicious. I cannot recommend Sue Hurst Cake Design enough
