STRESS FREE WEDDING CAKES Suffolk, London, Essex, Surrey, Kent & Beyond
How much is a wedding cake?
The price of a wedding cake varies hugely, depending on your requirements. Tier size and depth, number of tiers and intricacy of design, are all a big factor. Please see the price page for a guide to my starting prices, plus previous clients’ average spend.

How far in advance do I need to book my wedding cake?
Once your date is set and your venue is booked, it’s a good idea to start booking the suppliers who can only be in one place at a time. Due to only being able to delivery and set up one cake on any given day (some exceptions apply), availability can book up fast, so booking as soon as you know is always recommended to avoid disappointment.
Do you deliver and if so, what areas do you deliver to?
Absolutely…in fact I insist on it! Once your design is finalised, you can sit back and relax, safe in the knowledge that your cake will be safely delivered and set up perfectly in readiness for your arrival on your wedding day.
I deliver wedding cakes and dessert tables to wedding venues all over Suffolk, London, Essex, Kent, Surrey and beyond (subject to a delivery fee).
How do I choose my wedding cake design?
I believe all my couples deserve a wedding cake design that is unique to them – who really wants someone else’s wedding cake on their wedding day? It is for this reason, that I will never copy another designer’s work and will always try to persuade my couples not to have a copy of one of my previous designs either.
If you have seen pictures of designs/design elements that have caught your eye (these could be mine or another designer’s), this is always a good start to give me an idea of the type of design you would like.
It’s important that your cake fits the overall style and/or theme of your wedding. If you know your colour schemes (swatches are great), flowers that will be in your bouquet, stationery details or anything else, bring these along to our consultation to help with inspiration.
If, having read this, you’re still struggling with where to start when it comes to design ideas, do not worry, at our consultation we can go though lots of options, colours, textures and design details. You will honestly be amazed, once we get started, just how easy it all comes together…and my promise to you is that you will leave the consultation very excited!

What size wedding cake do I need?
As a rule of thumb, I generally recommend catering for 75-80% of your total evening wedding guests, as not all will eat cake. A standard wedding cake slice is normally considered 1” x 1” fingers. My designs come in an array of heights so I adjust the finger sizes accordingly, depending on the over all height of each tier when calculating the overall size that you will need.
An exception to the above would be if you are serving your wedding cake as you wedding breakfast dessert, in which case I recommend catering for 100% of your daytime wedding guests, with portion sizes being increased to 2” x 1” slices.
However, these recommendations are only that – recommendations – if you feel your guests will eat more or you would like to save the top tier to take home, to enjoy to yourselves at a later date, this can all be worked out to the perfect size/portions for your requirements.
Can we incorporate faux tiers into our design to make the cake bigger?
Yes, definitely! And no one will ever know, as they are decorated just like all the other tiers. However, contrary to popular belief this doesn’t necessarily mean the cost will be less than real cake. In some instances it will be slightly less, in other cases, it will be the same as the main cost of your cake is the decoration, which has to be done regardless if real or faux tier.
We're having a small wedding but want a big showstopper cake, is this possible without lots of waste?
Definitely! Dummy tiers can be used, in place of real cake, to add extra tiers/height. These tiers are iced and decorated in exactly the same way as real cake, so the only people who will know a tier (or tiers), are not real, is you and me!
We have a large guest list but don’t necessarily want a large cake. Do you supply cutting cakes?
Yes I do. These will be decorated plain in the same colour as your main cake so when cut and served to your guests, it will look the same as the main cake.
Do you provide cake stands?
I most certainly can! Having the perfectly designed and decorated cake is only the start of it! What you choose to put your wedding cake on can take it to another level (quite literally).
I have a selection of cake stands available to hire for a small charge. All my stands have been tested to ensure they can take the weight of your wedding cake (you will be surprised just how heavy a tiered cake can be).
If you would prefer to purchase your own stand, so you can have it as a keepsake after your day, I would never recommend buying a cake stand from the high street, as most are not made to take such a heavy cake. I am always happy to recommend some suppliers of appropriate wedding cake stands that will ensure the safety of your cake on your special day.

Do you cater for dietary requirements?
I am happy to create cakes without gluten or dairy. However please be advised that my cakes are made in a kitchen that may contain traces of gluten or dairy products, and therefore may not be suitable for serious allergy sufferers.
To discuss your requirements in detail, please contact me for a chat.
Can you supply vegan cake?
Yes I can.
Do you cater for dessert tables?
I do! You can see lots of dessert inspiration right here.
Can you make my wedding favours for me?
I can indeed! I make a wide selection of wedding favours – they can be personalised in so many ways and are such a lovely treat for your guests – edible favours rarely get left behind on the table like other wedding favours. Take a look here for some examples of what I have made.

Sue is absolutely incredible. Cannot fault our eperience with her and what she delivered, from start to finish, was absoloutely stunning. She considers every single detail from aspect of flavour to design and created the most beautfiul cake we’ve ever seen. It was delicious! Thank you Sue.
Our wedding cake was incredible. So much flavour. Sue’s service was so professional. From tasting sessions, to designs, imagery and social media. Cannot recommend her enough. So many good things said about our cake. We encourage everybody to use her!
Beautiful cake designed and created by Sue, at very short notice. Sue was always available to discuss details, sent through a lovely taster box (which was very useful as we went with flavours we did not think we would go with). Overall, excellent experience working with Sue!
